I liked a ton of things about this episode but one thing bothered me: As much as I loved the stance on rape and the way it was portrayed, which was great, very nuanced, and realistic...the killer drugged and murdered the victim, there are still three guns in the house, and her son is resembling his father as he gets older. I really wish Sharon made a deal that the shooter would get some counseling or address in some way that there are some potential safety issues there. A sentence or two that even with the resemblance, she doesn't see her rapist in him, she just sees her son.
Maybe there was a hint of that in there somewhere and I just need a re-watch.
Poor Sharon's apartment! That was wonderful and the kind of realistic comedy I really love. And I also loved Andy calling out the AA sponsor on not following up on his sponsor-ee when he dropped out of sight, and the acknowledgement that slips can happen even after 20 years of sobriety.
Everyone looked great, too. Sharon's hair seemed a little tamer but super-healthy and elegant. And I loved Patrice's top, and the jacket Sharon wore at the end :-)
Yeah - unfortunately, I don't believe the show (either TC or MC) are very good at following-up unfortunately. I mean look at where they left with Daniel Dunn and the fiancee with two daughters? :\
Though one can hope? Maybe someone will write a post-ep fic where Sharon has a sit-down with the wife about counseling. :3
