Sharon and Andy are happening at a reasonable pace, IMO. Last night was the most significant reference to it yet, and neither of them are ready to admit anything, even to those closest to them. They probably haven't figured it out themselves.

The divorce has been a long time coming - 20 years long - and the reason it's happening now is about Rusty, not so much Andy (though that probably has helped her thought process).

I really loved all the looks and gestures last evening, as they kept checking in to see how the other was doing. Andy knows dealing with Jack is no picnic for Sharon, and she has probably guessed that the abandonment of a child by her family, is hard for Andy. None of the scenes where his anger showed included her, so she might not have seen it first hand.

My favourite moments, however, were Andy and Provenza. Those two are solid, and from Andy's universal gesture for 'f*uck off', to Provenza's watching the Andy/Jack interaction knowingly, they added great subtext to the show. Sharon and Andy might not be prepared to admit they are dating, but Provenza knows they are.

And Hobbs! Did we know she was going to be on last night? I was so happy to see her. She had to dial Andy down, which was an interesting exchange. She is such a great addition to that crew.

All in all a great show, and probably my favourite this season. Nice touch at the end to show a service for the girl. It reinforced how much the team cared for the victim. Both Andy and Sharon were parental at turns.

I've got to look again. I saw the scene a few times, and totally missed the bump. Streaming it now to have a good look.

I totally agree with you about the pace of Sharon's and Andy's relationship.
I think, like Andy said, they are friends. It is probably really hard to work in that kind of job and never talk to someone about it - and Provenza isn't the kind of guy to open up or talk about a case; so Andy probably started talking to the one person who would notice if he was worried: Sharon. So I think that's what the relationship is based on. Both of them are deeply affected by most of the cases (especially the ones involving children) and so they try to support each other. Which is why I love the idea of them really getting together - because a relationship based on that kind of friendship and trust would be wonderful.

And the shoulder bump was perfect! Sharon noticed this murder took its toll on Andy and she knew that this simple gesture would show him he doesn't need to deal with this on his own. I loved that.

Concerning the rest of the episode: I don't know what I am happier about . Hobbs returning or Sharon divorcing Jack. Both of them are pretty close to be my favourite moment of this episode but I think I'll go with Hobbs.
I mean, we always knew she is a great attorney but it was really great to see how she changed her mind about the deal. In my opinion that showed that she does care about the victims and really tries her best to lock the criminals away for as long as possible. I really love her character! And Kathe Mazur is simply the most perfect actress to portray her, I really love her perfomance in every single episode and especially this season she did an amazing job.

I agree. Hobbs is in a difficult position - she has to make the case stick. And sometimes that means coming in with less, to ensure a more solid outcome. I don't even get the sense that she's good with it, just that she's pragmatic. But she most definitely isn't disinterested in the victim, and that shows through as well. When Mama Rosa, or whatever her name was, last season was deported to certain death in Mexico, Hobbs showed her conflicting feelings on the matter. Last evening, as soon as 'Alice' was referred to as a piece of trash to be thrown away, Hobbs crossed over the line she carefully walked, to join the others in demanding justice for the young woman.

What's conflicting about bringing the piñata? I know, that's not where that line was, but you know what I mean. I actually thought Raydor and Hobbs were kind of creepy in that scene--good creepy, but creepy. (Mama Rosa...sounds like she's going invite you into la cocina instead of selling la cocaína...but that is her name, Rosa Vega.)

Anyway, I agree with/like most of this, especially, "I don't even get the sense that she's good with it, just that she's pragmatic."

I don't know that she crossed the line, so much as the suspect kept talking and gave her enough to overcome the "I just said what they wanted me to" defense and fry him.
