Tokyopop Re:con ver. 7.0
I've been to SEVEN RE:CONS??? WTF XDDD Wow, I just counted now and like... woaaah *brain melt*. I'm a bit shocked that I still don't know the answers to the quiz - haha!
But I think it's UBER appropriate I cosplayed as Nana O, to Re:con number 7 ;D. That's pretty nifty...
I'm really happy XD, because I won the cosplay competition!! I'd worked really hard on my Nana cosplay and I LOVE Nana so much, it's the only costume so far I reaaally really wanted to win with. When I won as Misato I felt a bit.. like a cheat seeing as I didn't even have her hair >.>;;;.
This makes this... the fifth re:con cosplay comp win XD;;;;! Ahhh, I love you Tokyopop <3
Anywho~ reportuu!: (if you can be bothered to read.... don't worry XD)
Got back from London after going to see Michael and phoned various peoplez (ala TamakiFather and Rosie) who did not have their phones on >D and Beth who was not yet in Reading >D. I needed help getting into my cosplay lulz, but couldn't find anyone so just got dressed in the station toilets and looked a bit of a twerp when I got my hair stuck to my guitar case - hahaha! My mother brought me my contacts/makeup and I did that in the car, she's pretty supportive of my manga event-ing antics :3. I've been rather stupid and left my cosplay make up on my aunt's farm in Sussex >.>;; I ONLY wear make up for cosplay - haha XD, so it's not like I had any spare at home :P (but luckily, my family urns a pharmacy, so vanity fears averted!).
Walked to Waterstones, guitar case fell apart a few times, picked it up. I decorated a guitar case to make it all Nana-y and made posters for a Blast concert ^_^. I was wearing a big trench coat, because when you're wearing a skirt barely covering you legs and have high socks pulled up so high... it's not a good idea to walk around Reading with all that exposed at night. Got there and met some people I knew outside and also found Beth (as L) and Emma Y (as Ritsuka). Emma P phoned and I told her to come downstairs and got hugged with calls of "DAAAUUGHTER!" ^__^. Then, we preceded to half block the stairs as I made everyone help me glue false nails on (WHHHY WOULD PEOPLE WEAR THEM NORMALLY???). Waterstones lady took my picture and some other people did. She said she had a Flickr, so I must go a search for that later because I really want to get a photo of my cosplay (plus, my mum wants to see!) ^_^. We moved all our stuff and heard bits of the TP presentation. This mostly turned into people shouting "YAOI" at him whenever anything remotely BL turned up on screen. This Re:con was reaaally well organised, they cleared all the books shelves on the top floor so there was a MASSIVE space and plenty of room for everyone ^_^.
False nails are so damn annoying, how does Nana deal with them? XD Rosie *among anyone else sitting near me* being lovely glued them on multiple times for me and picked up things for me - I couldn't do ANYTHING with them on XD. Also, whenever I CLAPPED one would fall off lol XD. Did the quiz with Niki and shared answers with Emma P and Rosie :3. The cosplay comp had like... 18 entries? It was pretty awesome and I told everyone to buy Nana on its release when I got up at the end XD. Also, I think about... 3 people were cosplaying from Tokyopop, everyone else was from VIZ or unpublished. VIZ ftw!
Wandered round and talked to people, got to see Catherine's (Kelinor online and as Suzumiya Haruhi) awesome sketchbook and Gurren Lagan fanaaart <3 and her CUTE omakes for her manga ^_^. Talked to a Kyouya who played Rose from Nana on my guitar and who'd previously cosplayed ES21 and Mugen (zomgwinwinwinwininw)! HOWEVER er, we kinda were... less friendly towards him after he started to hit on me and ask me out even though he knew I was 15 >.>.... and he was about 10 years older D:. Yaaaay for TamakiFatherEmma who whiiiisked me away and generally is an awesome cosplayingwomanFather thing <3. Talked to lots of nice new people and some lovely old ones :3. Met a Light and Misa who were keen to be more cosplay-y and make friends ^_^ - yaaaay for Facebook!! Also, the girl with the RIDICULOUSLY high voice and actually scary level of genkiness was there again. I mean... I'm pretty genki but it's like she's ENTHUSED with the power of all billion episodes of Sailor Moon in her blood. I can't talk to her for too long XD. But she's very nice/enthusiastic ^^! She showed me her pokemon ^^;;;.... XD. Andy came up to tell me I'd won the cosplay comp and I had to keep the squeeing to a lowdown till it was annouced properly ^^;;!
The same girl won the art comp. as last time (I also voted for her), she does really awesome gothic manga stuff ^^. I didn't have time to enter XD but I won the cosplay which made me sooo happy! I chose a Sailor Moon plastic print thingy, it shall be going on my folder at schoool ^_^ They didn't give out any manga as prizes which is different :3. Then, ALL the winners of the raffle came from the same corner of the room I swear XD - Where all the CATAW/Holly/Emily were sitting but I sat next to Emma K because I haven't seen her in ageeees and she's teh best :D! Then best of all - Catherine WON A DS!!!!!!!!! ZOMG LIKE WOOOOW D:!! It was amaazing and she looked so happy it was so sweet ^__^! Actually, her friend had the exact same answers as her so Andy said he'd give them both one! Awww <3!
After prizeness, much hare hare yukai-ing ensued and swapping of contacts. JOIN THE TOKYOPOP RE:CON GROUP ON FACEBOOK ^___^! *I am the admin bwahaha!*. Rosie took a video so I need to watch it some time and I also want to try and find some photos of my cosplay, I didn't take any myself XD. I talked to the Waterstones lady and she seemed really enthusiastic ^^ and I talked to her about RAICON, a Reading anime convention and how it'd just be amazing <3. I mean, Reading has PLENTY enough people, 2 anime socities, a manga shop, enthusiastic manga-y libraries and manga clubs in the school PLUS it has all the resources to make it capeble. It's also close enough to London to be central for the south but far enough away to be a lot cheaper to travel and stay in. Someone, organise Raicon now plz. However, the Waterstones lady seemed to suggest instead that a super fan like me should organise it XD - I'm too young and laaazy! After Re:con talked to Catherine again and she'd been given a rose by ewwy Kyouya and told me why she didn't like him because he had little rant at her for speaking Japanese... she speaks it fluent D: so what's yer problem??! So we both didn't want the rose and gave it to the nice Re:con lady ^_^.
Outside, Frank was giving out leaflets for Red Garden - YAY! I plugged it a bit to some people who didn't know what it was ^^. Said our farewells to people and I went back with Beth and Emma Y... now this was probably the MOST ENTERTAINING THING ALL DAY XD. Screw the boyfriend seeing and the Re:con lulz, just give Emma cool-aid and it's the most I can remember laughing XD. Now to write down as many quotes form that walk back as possible....

James/Mother, I hope you had fun watching Transformers raepz instead of seeing us :( Holly played the Transformers intro on the speakers in Waterstones actually XD - I probably looked unenthusiastic.
