It finally feels like spring
Nice day so far. Got up and took a long walk with the puppers - this is one of the first time I've tried walking him much outside our yard. He seemed to enjoy it, though of course he kept wanting to stop to sniff - especially the three fire hydrants on our block. So, it was not such good exercise for me ... which goodness knows I need. I was all bundles up because I am always cold, but still had the leggings on that I had slept in (I find it hard to believe that something that was once such a staple of my wardrobe is now relegated to sleepwear). I probably looked pretty silly, especially to the boy next door driving home in his Jeep. Where he was coming from at 7am is a mystery, the answer to which I probably don't want to know.
My aunt came and took me and the princess to breakfast and then to Borders for Educators' Appreciation day. She bought both kids a book for their immediate pleasure, then a sticker book for them and all their cousins for some future gift-giving occasion. She also bought wonder boy the book he really wants for his birthday - a pop-up version of Horton Hears a Who. You would not believe he is turning 9 sometimes! She adn I both bought some books and a video for my dad's upcoming birthday as well. We did not find anything for dear husband who has been bored by books lately. Then we had to have dessert in the cafe before returning home. The princess enjoyed that part the best - that, and making aunt M read her a good dozen books while I looked around.
The menfolk went to breakfast without us and then for a hike along the towpath in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. They are at Sam's Club now buying cat litter and beer - the combination strikes me as amusingbut I can't explain why. Princess is having quiet time in her room - at thrre and a half, she is getting to the age where naps are not going to happen as easily. So I am taking advantage of the time to buy dear husband a video for his birthday from Amazon and spend a little quaslity time online.
