Here we are, once again...

And by that, I meant I did a huge cleanup of my CD and DVDs last year, and I thought I was done but right at year-end, I found another spindle. -_-; So now it is back to the occasional session of putting the discs through my blu-ray drive and getting stuff copied over so I can eventually archive it on my external drive. At least I've had some lessons learned since then...

I'm also thinking I'll do another closet cleanout, and maybe my boxes of old college things. I have to take a look at what I want to keep and then from there, the stuff that I won't actually need to use, and move that up to the attic. That's going to be...well, maybe not 'fun', but will probably be good in the long run.

In general there seems to be a de-cluttering/cleanup craze going on. Hopefully it'll stick, not just for me but for all the people who try it. We can all use a little relief from the stress of too much stuff. My 'contribution' which I will count as already done is actually actively writing in the journals that I bought in the past. :) I've actually finished one (well, I've finished others before but those were $1 Walmart tiny notebooks for Avengers stuff, so those were easy to fill/use) and am starting on another one that Yayoi had given me waaaaaaaaay back in the day. The last entry on there was 2003! I had a lot of fun putting a sticky in the dividing page and writing "And then.............timeskip! 16 years later..."

I guess it's a good thing 16 years later I'm still here, not too much the worse for wear.

Oh, some brief life notes: had call with mom yesterday and it seems like most likely the March 2019 Taiwan trip won't happen. We will attempt it some other time. I did give her the website and we talked about possibly an Alaska trip via railways during the summer season, which she was really enthusiastic about. I would've liked to go to Taiwan but in addition to the tricky timing, there is also the matter of family obligations. The previous option was Europe, but it was all going to be in non-English speaking countries, which I think we can hack, but would be uncomfortable. Alaska, I'm fairly confident about. We'll see...
