Random life things:
While eating a slice of orange, I was reminded of my mom, because she would basically take an orange slice and just suck it dry, but refuse to eat anything else, like NONE of the fleshy parts. It drives me nuts because if I did that (not that I would, I like oranges), I would get yelled at for wasting food. She even admits that she got yelled at for doing it and wasting food, but she still does it. *throws hands up*.
I got promoted, but it was kind of anti-climactic because nothing's really changed except my title. My boss didn't realize it until after the fact as well because HR put the promotion through but forgot to tell her. There's some hope for a bonus/pay raise at some point, so I guess that's better than nothing. - What bugs me is that I kept telling them I don't want to be management. :P Pretty much every time reviews come around I say "Give me data!" and they give me people instead. Argh.
Baking eggplant is awesome and easy. My dad likes steamed eggplant better though, so I'll do that to the two new eggplants he bought.
New BBQ place was pretty decent. Picked coleslaw and Cesar salad for the sides because I wanted to at least attempt to counter the meat with some greens, but the potato casserole and the mac and cheese looked delicious too...I find that sweet tea is disturbingly like the black tea I love in Taiwan.
Chinese New Year is coming up! Gotta buy some dumplings and candy. Every year I kind of go back and forth on celebrating, because there really isn't a lot of people to celebrate it with. Mostly I use it as an excuse to buy yummy food and clothes.
Today is an epic bad hair day, which means I have a good reason to put on a hat when I go romping around.
