Drive by life updates!
In order to test the new pressure cooker today, we bought a whole chicken and stuffed half of it into the pot. I piled on the carrots, onions, mushrooms, and celery, but made it some sort of weird Asian hybrid by using rice wine and sesame oil. I just turned off the stove, it smells heavenly, though I'm afraid I probably added too much sesame oil...
The first test was Chinese styled savory pigs' feet, along with shiitake mushrooms, peanuts, dates (??? WTF, dad?), and hard-boiled eggs. The only thing left is the hard-boiled eggs, mainly cuz it's hard to eat more than one at a time. I'm sad that we forgot to throw in some seaweed though - THAT would've been awesome on top of awesomeness.
Life is pretty much work, eat, sleep, repeat. I can't wait for the new gal to come, at the very least I'll be able to take lunch at a normal hour like a normal person. My boss came in today and was like "You're eating just now????" and I was like "You said that yesterday. And the day before. I've BEEN eating just now for forever". 'Now' being anytime between 2:50 and 3:15. Also I'll have to ask about working this weekend - we're on track for what's due, but at least three recons are almost two months behind, and there's no way I can concentrate on them (cuz they're FUBAR) during normal times cuz of the wire insanity.
I have a strange craving for sushi. I somehow dodged the bullet last weekend because my dad was being uncooperative, but I'm not sure if I can put it off again this weekend. There goes some of my hard earned OT money...
In other news, have sort of been caught up on Bleach, letting One Piece get ahead of me again (and since OneManga is down, I have to expand effort to go looking for scanlations, if there are still some out there), and pretty much...just coasting. Did download a lot of Bleach anime though, which netted me some new songs. That's pretty much the only way I get new music - through anime OP or ED, or through the generosity of friends who actually bother to poke me and say "LISTEN TO THIS"...
Bleach anime filler arcs are hilarious in that 'omg, bad fanfic!' sort of way. At least there's lots of my favorite characters, and the animated Turn Back the Pendulum arc was pretty hilarious. I mean, just the scene with teen-brat!Byakuya getting boobed by Yoruichi was worth the horrible fillers. And of course it spawned a ton of 'tag' fanfics which are amusing to read. The animators totally got carried away with Senbonzakura though, it got to the point where I couldn't really tell what the difference is between the shikai and the bankai.
Ok, enough rambling, time for bed.@_@ At least tomorrow's Friday! TGIF!
