Yippee...

Math homework: caught up, now just have to do the homework that's due this coming monday. Whee...Spent most of today cranking out those problems, and it's GOOD to actually see the right answers...it's so frustrating when I'm doing them and don't know what I'm doing (I think I know now...better than I did before, anyway) and not getting anywhere.

Was going to work on econ (har har) but instead got sidetracked. Spent the better part of an hour trying to replicate the buttons that I had made once for the new Arcanum SR index page (because frankly, even though I know I won't win any awards for page design, the stuff I have now is just a bit TOO plain). Sticking with text with the assorted text-format filters slapped on it for this time because making actual buttons, if I recalled correctly, was even MORE of a pain.

Then spent the next hour combing through the ftp files for Ainself and matching them with the files I have on my computer. Was starting on the process (the long and tedious process) of thumbnailing when I decided that it wasn't worth it, especially if I'm actually going to change them all later once index2.html is up. Amatsu is lucky, since his name starts with the first letter of the alphabet, I actually got HIS thumbnails done...

Was looking at the FTP folder for Arcanum SR. It told me there was 179 files in the folder...about half of which is probably thumbnails, but when I counted the stuff I've posted, there's 100+ piccies...there's 27(?) in the Arcanum folder...So this original story is the one with the best chance of catching up with my monster bulk of Slayers fanart...tis good to know, that finally my site isn't bulk-fanart anymore (even though it still is, sorta. Slightly).

Hm...in other news, today was extremely fun. My friend had a dance competition (ballroom dancing) and I told her I'd go watch. I apparently missed the tango part because it was part of an earlier match, and I was only given the time for her competition...So I'm a bit sad that I missed seeing people tango. But otherwise it was very fun...I was there for the latin dance part, where they did the samba, jive (?), rhumba (?), and swing. It was really amazing how energetic the dancers were, going all over the place, often doing three or four dances in a row because they've entered all the categories. Some were great dancers and incredibly enthusiastic, some were really good but more subdued...I enjoyed watching the enthusiastic dancers the most, they threw so much energy into every move.

I've tried drawing dancing couples before, but it's already hard to capture 3D images on a 2D surface...and it's SO much harder to get down the sheer motion that dancing has. And the motion is the most important part, I spent most of the time just oogling at the couples' feet and how smoothly they were moving, together and utterly in sync. The girls all had high heeled shoes that looked really uncomfortable, and I was impressed that they not only managed to dance in them, dance well, AND not step on their partner's feet. I would've just died wearing those shoes just walking around on flat surfaces...Anyway, what was I saying?^^;

So, yeah, dancing...It's really not the same as looking at pictures or hearing or reading about it. I knew that intellectually, but didn't really KNOW it until I got to see it in action. I hope I get to see it again soon...

Whee, many people (ha...maybe a few) will have their LJ friends' lists cluttered by this...
