I just finished watching Full Metal Alchemist - The Conqueror of Shamballa, aka the FMA movie.
You know what?
GOD DAMN WAS IT GOOD.
The down side is I have heard FUNimation isn't licensing the movie for a domestic release, and having watched it, I can tell why.
I'm not going to spoil the plot, but I will state that the movie deals with a certain time period in our history which we are not proud of, and, by todays standards, seeing would offend quite a few people. FUNimation probably doesn't wanna get their hands dirty with it.
The good news for me is, the R2 dvd has english subtitles, and I own a region free dvd player. I am DEFINANTLY going to get that dvd.
However, after watching this movie, I feel I must re watch the entire series and the movie again, just to get a better understanding of some things that happen in the movie.
Overall, the movie was good, however, the end leave something open. That's called a sequel. I am expecting the announcement any day now.
The movie was awesome. Its everything I would have expected it to be, and more. In short, it takes all the good things about the FMA series to a new level. Its simply brilliant.
Often times its hard for a movie based on an anime to do well without differentiating from the anime too much. This movie is seamless in comparison to the TV series. The look, the feel, the characters, all of it fits perfectly.
Its 4:38 AM, and I think I might just watch it again. :D
New update coming later!
Bye for now!
