Well. It took me a few years (6.5 to be exact) but I finally graduated from college. And I only switched majors twice, and went through 3 different schools! Admittedly, I did get my AS during those years, so I guess that counts for something...right?
As I am writing here, most of my friends are on their way back to school. My little brother went back today, and he just texted me to let me know he got back okay. Another friend is flying out on Saturday to get back to school, and yet another is driving her way up the coast to Maine. And I am here at home, not sure where I am going or what I'm really doing. I'm stuck in that limbo between "graduation" and "job" and it is more than a little frightening.
I've sent out many, many, many applications and resumes, and I've even had one interview with my old company, Discovery Place. They are the only place that ever got back to me. None of the others have even bothered to send a "We don't want you" letter. Or e-mail even. I'm told that is just how the business world works in this day and age, but whatever happened to old-fashioned politeness? I understand that animal care/zookeeping is an incredibly small and selective field, but it would be nice to at least be acknowledged.
So I guess that, for now at least, I just have to sit back and float in limbo. Keep sending out resumes, wait to hear from Discovery Place or anyone else, and try to avoid killing my mother. Until I get a job, I have no money, thus I am forced to live at home. With my parents. Oh joy. Just keep chanting "I LOVE my mother, I DO, I DO!"
