All went well going to the fair except I made a BIG booboo and forgot my camera. I'm sorry to say I won't have any pictures to post.
The drive down was nice. It only took us about 2 1/2 hours to get to our hotel. We thought it was going to take longer. The bed was hard, so David and I didn't sleep very well. That's ok though, that made for an early start the next day. By 10 am we were up, showered, dressed for the fair and out the door.
Let me start by saying it was BEAUTIFUL there. Lots of pine trees every where. I loved the fact that there was plenty of shade. There were little benches everywhere around the trees for you to sit and take in all the scenery. David and I had talked about getting married there, now I think I am even more set on it. The places where they have the weddings are awesome! It will be soo much fun. I don't think we have a lot of people that will come anyway. But you get 50 passes for the festival, food, and cake, and the spot to eat for an hour. Then everyone can mingle around, drink and be merry for the rest of the fair!! All of that for around 5 thousand. I think that sounds good, and sounds like a lot of fun, don't you?
We found our friend Michelle, who is the one that got us free tickets to go to the fair. She worked at one of the candle shops. o0o we spent a good 70 dollars at her booth on candles. They smelled so good, we couldn't resist. We walked aruond some more and for breakfast we had a turkey leg. Couldn't resist that. That was followed by sangria! More food and more sangria!
We stopped to take a break and see one of the shows. I ended up one of the women pulled up out of the crowed. This big nuebian warrior telling stories and poetry to women. Well I chose a raunchy type of poetry and his pose that you take with the women for that type of reading was something else. I was told to take a deep breath in and up he grasps my boobs and almost making them tumble out of my corsette. LOL it was too funny I tell ya!
After more walking and more sangria I was feeling pretty worn out. I think it was around 5:30, we stopped by and told Michelle we were leaving and she asked us to come back and eat with the crew at the resteraunt across the street. So off we went to shower and get a small nap in.
All I can say is OH MY GOD at the portion sizes they serve you on this menu!! David couldn't even eat all of his! For anyone that knows David they know how much food he can put away. The company was great, the stories hillarious! It is going to be a must that we do it again next year.
Sunday we got up early, showered, dressed, and headed over to Steak and Ale to eat. MMMmm delicious, just as I remembered it from Atlanta. I really wish we had one of these closer to Austin. While we were doing all of this they were getting the house ready for our arrival. They were putting up decorations for David's birthday. Which was on Sunday. Our friend even baked him a Carrot cake, that in which, John has never baked a cake before. It came out very well. Friends came over, we ate, we drank, had lots of laughs and I believe we were in bed by 10:30 or so. It was a good time.
When they brought Corbin home to me on Sunday, he was so happy to see us both. I could tell he missed us. He kept running through the house and giving us hugs. He's also got a new word. He says Hiiieee. The way he says it is sooo friggen cute.
Please forgive all my mispelled words. I have a lot to get done today so I'm not going to go over this before I post this. I hope you all have a good weekend and I hope that you have a good week as well.
