passion and turmoil
thank god america's next top model set it straight for all of america tonight. it's much better to be a total bitch and hot than really sweet, beautiful, and over 130lbs. i take back my vote for brandy, she sucks. she better not win.

this past weekend was wonderful. i met my brother's new found brother and my dad's childhood friends. my dad's friend keith bares a strong resemblance to uncle geo. jon and i even asked if he knew george, but either he never met him or he doesn't remember from all the drug use. my uncle barry and cousin matt who i haven't seen in a years were also there. i thought it would be really uncomfortable, and it kind of was, but mostly it was fun. i also inherited my grandfather's super 8 with film (used and unused)! i handed it right over to michael because he's wanted one for so long. it was really adorable to see him so excited. after framing everyone in the viewfinder he clutched it to his chest and wouldn't put it down until he had to drive.
i hadn't realized how long it's been since i was back in milwaukee. the decibully cd release show was fun even though it reached capacity at like 23 people. afterwards, alyssa and i bonded over slippery patches on the sidewalk home. i can't tell you how much i miss hanging out with alyssa every day. sigh.
sunday was gorgeous. i ate a whole bag of tings (aka vegan cheetos!). jon and amy had us over for tofu scramble and oj. mm~mmm. after breakfast michael and i met up with josh and leann for a doggy play-date in the early afternoon. lucy and mateo met herman, a german sheppard/husky mix with a little street fighting still pumping through his veins from his days as a stray. they had a beautiful, but muddy, walk along milwaukee's lakefront.
upon arriving in chicago, michael and i opened all the windows to the apartment and came to realize the beauty of spring.
