Felton

Here's a picture of Felton hiding in the anubias, as though I can't see you, ya silly fella! Overall, he's doing pretty well. Although, lately he seems to be having trouble eating. He sees the food, but seems to overshoot/undershoot his lunge and ends up missing. In addition, it seems as though he can't really open his mouth too wide so I have to cut the pellets into really small pieces. I have to be much more patient with feeding him than with Lily, but as long as he eats, I'm happy. I'm beginning to suspect that I got a rather...mature fish. For one thing, he is so much bigger than Lily, and lately his activity and coloring seems to have declined a bit, and he seems to have to struggle a lot more with swimming, especially when he's lugging around all that finnage. But it doesn't matter as long as he's healthy.

The Italian Vals shooter has really grown a lot, and I'm thinking about cutting it off from the mother plant soon. I noticed that lately I've gotten a lot of brown algae everywhere in the tank. I was probably dosing too much fertilizers, so I cut back my doses of potassium from 3 times a week to just 2 times, and also only dose nitrogen once a week (right after I change the water), and it seems that the algae is slowly going away. I'm finally noticing that my anubias' roots are finally growing well and quite a few have attached themselves to the driftwood and are clinging on really well, even after the rubber band I used to attach them with broke.
