So I've moved back home for the summer. I tried a different method of packing my fish this time. I used to put them back in the plastic cups I got them in, put them in a box with towels wrapped around the cups, and carry the box on my lap. Pros: I don't have to worry about my fish suffocating due to a lack of oxygen. Cons: the bumpy ride back sloshes the water out of the cups and there is a risk that the fish might be slammed against the hard plastic, possibly causing internal damage. This time I each of them in their own fish bags (really tall ones) tie it up with as much air as possible, and then flip the back over and put it in another fish back, like
this. Then I put the bags into a box lined with insulation foam and filled with newspaper/bubble wrap. Pros: don't have to worry about water sloshing out, and the bags/packaging is much softer so I don't have to worry about fish slamming into it and hurting themselves. Cons: risk that fish may run out of air. However, I've had Mufasa sent to me in a much smaller fish bag than the one I used, so I wasn't worried TOO much. My two babies were just fine by the time I got back home 5hrs later.
Anyways, Lily is now in my other 5.5gal glass aquarium that I have at home. She had to stay in her 3gal keeper for a week so that I could cycle the tank. When she first got into the tank, she wasn't used to the filter current, so she kept getting pushed about, and was a bit inactive the first few hours. Now she's gotten used to everything and loves to zoom about in her new tank, hahaha!
She's definitely gotten chubbier, and all the black markings on her face is gone. I kinda miss her mustache, hahaha! But she's still adorable and loves to nom on food.
Update on Felton and his tank coming soon.
