This is from the Summer too, from the end of RamadanI was at the gym the other day. It’s a nice gym, not too big, has a sauna and even a small pool and a terrace where you can sunbathe. And it’s ladies only, which is probably a good idea, as it is a rather mixed neighbourhood culturally, with lots of Muslim people. I lay down in the sun on the

Yes I noticed that you're always careful to distinguish the Catalan from the Spanish etc.
I grew up in Estonia (Soviet Union then still) where there were only the Estonians and the Russians, who were trying to ignore each other as best the could. (This is a very difficult thing still, but I feel it is perhaps - slowly - getting better.)
I only got in touch with the Muslim part of the world as I first came to Germany, I was a real Post-Soviet country pumpkin at the time. But some time ago I worked together with a lot of Turkish, Arabic and Kosovo Albanian/ Roma people so and I got pretty close to some of them. I even dated a Kurdish guy from Irak for some time and he was an excellent informant... :)
But I don'tknow any Hindu people, I've only met some very briefly (provided they were Hindu and not, say, Sikh... :)
I really enjoy Berlin now with all its diversity and relaxed atmosphere... I live in a very Turkish/ Arabic dominated neighbourhood
But the drabble was actually born the moment she said "It's better if you don't sleep with your husband at all" - in a serious tone, it was so funny :)))))

Your blog will only appear on someones "friends feed" if you have friended them - otherwise methinks your audience would only be peeps who stumble across you (I guess tags help, but I've never used them to tell).
I think that's how it works anyhoots.
I was very conscious of not dumping Catalans under "Spanish" - Dali is one of my hero's and I learned very forcibly & early on from him of the differences (from the Catalan perspective)
I do think it's important to respect people's cultures and traditions, there is so much ignorance in the world.
In broad terms; Sikh men wear turbans and are more serious, conservative people methinks - Hindu's are more liberal - sort of more modern in outlook.
"This is a very difficult thing still, but I feel it is perhaps - slowly - getting better."
I do hope so Maja xx
We are currently due for a big referendum - Scotland may become Independent on Thursday - we'd have to have a new Flag if they break from GB - the diagonal cross in the Union Jack is Scotland.
The Irish situation has been the biggest conflict in these isles, it's getting better, but tension still simmers.

That's fascinating. There must still be a lot of tension... I know that there still is in Cyprus and their conflict was in the 70's. I guess being an island does make a difference - but between Northumberland and Scotland there is only a tiny blue sign to announce you've arrived in Scotland. That's it! Blink and you'd miss it.
The flag thing will cause a furore if it happens.
The current polls are pretty even, but it was heavily No to independence before - the Yes vote increases every day. My son is half scottish, so I'm up to date :) If I were scottish I'd definitely want independence...but as an English person, I want them to stay. I like them. But I still hope they get Independence if they want it. :)))
