Health update: Finally start to feel better. Even my twin noticed that my comments on the fuse are back to their nutty self. *giggles*

Life updates: Um... nothing new really... work, eat, sleep, post and read on the Internet. Might go out tomorrow night and meet some friends to see The Golden Compass. I really want to see it but due to my lack of friends who live close to me, this means I have to drive 1 hour to meet them in Bamberg. Watch the movie with them. Drive back home another hour. (Talked to one of them today and it didn't sound like any of them is interested in grabbing a drink afterwards) Alternative: See the movie here in Coburg, but all alone. Meh.

I HATE not having friends around. Why did they ALL have to move away? Why am I the only one still stuck here? How do you make friends/ find people with the same interests AND who live close by? When did life become so complicated? *sigh*

Enough of the ranting... here's today's advent calender

So... you all know me by the name Majandra.... which is not my real name ("surprise surprise" LOL"). Most of you do know my real name... some of you might even know me long enough to know that I used a different nick on the Internet before that (
cosmo_jenny ;) ) but I thought maybe some of you are wondering where the name Majandra comes from.

I think I started to "be" Majandra in fall 2004 when I came back to my favorite IRC channel after the summer hiatus and found out that my former nick (Anyanka) had been taken by someone else. GRR! So I needed a new one, something a little more "special", so noone else would claim it and for some reason (might have been a rerun of Roswell ;) ) the name Majandra popped up in my head and it has become part of me... or actually... has become me on the Internet. :) Sometimes I have to use variations (like on MB forum) but I guess after 3 years most people on the Internet know me as Maja or Majandra.

Alright, so where does the name come from?

I "stole" the name from the wonderful, beautiful and amazing actress and singer Majandra Delfino who is probably most known for her role as Maria deLuca in "Roswell".

Majandra Delfino (born Marialejandra Delfino on February 20, 1981 in Caracas, Venezuela), is an actress and singer best known for her role as Maria DeLuca on the television series Roswell.

Delfino was nicknamed "Majandra" by her elder sister, Marieh, who is also an actress. Marieh couldn't pronounce her full name, and so the nickname stuck.[1] She is half-Cuban and half-Venezuelan.[1]

Delfino is a musician and an actress. Since the termination of Roswell back in 2002, she focused on music, releasing the critically acclaimed 2001 album The Sicks on her own label, Dripfeed, without radio or television airplay.

She also received attention in France, through her duet with French chanteuse (singer) RoBERT, titled "Le Prince Bleu D'Arthelius" in which she sings both in English and French.

Her second album, Tarte, was released April 23, 2007 through her official website http://www.majandra.com/ and Amazon.com. It contains 11 tracks and was released through her own record company Red velvet Cake Records. There are samples of three songs on her official website and her MySpace. It can now be purchased through iTunes.

She starred in Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the Thirteenth, which was made before Scary Movie but did not receive major cinematic release. She has also been in Reeseville, Celeste in the City, The Tony Danza Show, and R.S.V.P., with Jason Mewes (of View Askew fame) and Glenn Quinn (of Angel). Her latest film State's Evidence covers the controversial topic of violence in schools. Her masterful performance of Trudi was her darkest dramatic role to date.

Delfino was previously in a relationship with her Roswell costar, Brendan Fehr.

On November 25th 2007, Majandra confirmed (on her offical forum - link below) that she and Devon Gummersall (of My So-Called Life) had married on October 6th 2007.

Majandra also confirmed she is set to star in a number of episodes of Quarterlife - the new series on MySpace (start November 11th 2007). Her husband Devon has also written for the show.

And a funny story to finish this: When I googled for Majandra pictures I came across this one:

And my first reaction was: WTF does Ian have to do with Majandra? Crazy google coming up with the weirdest stuff! LOL! Took me a minute to realize that it is my user pic in a German Lost forum. *giggle* And then 1 page later or so, I found this picture:

Which is my current myspace profile pic. ROFL!
