Advent Calendar - 23rd December
Okay, so, um... nothing much happened today. I sent the last "wave" of Christmas cards today. So sorry guys, I hope they'll arrive THIS year! (I sent the majority of cards last week, so in theory, they should arrive in time... or shortly after ;) ). Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. Feels like a day like any other, tbh. Although it IS our big day, since we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, not Christmas Day. Tomorrow morning I'll do some cleaning up and maybe some last minute grocery shopping (shops will be closed until Saturday and then everyone will go crazy because OMG they couldn't go shopping for 1 1/2 days). Hopefully I will still get any groceries. I was in that one shop today (for posting the Christmas cards) and the shelves were EMPTY and people's shopping carts were overflowing with stuff... you'd think they'd have to feed any army for a whole year!!! Crazy, crazy... LOL! Ah well, I don't need much... I think I actually could go without shopping at all since I'm probably going to eat upstairs at my brother's. My SiL bought a 5 kgs goose!! And we're... well... maybe 4 adults and a child. One of the adults is my SiL's dad and he doesn't eat a lot of meat if any. Yup... won't need any food for the rest of the week. LOL!
Presents will be small this year. I have a book for my nephew which I actually bought last year when I thought that his real present wouldn't arrive in time. Then it did and the book is Christmas related (well, New Year's Eve related, really), so I couldn't give it to him for his b-day (in May). It is called "Der Wunschpunsch" ("The Wish Punch") and is written by Michael Ende (you may know his "Neverending Story" or "Momo"). I also got him the Christmas with the Chipmunks CD (he loves the Alvins and the Chipmunks movie)... and I have a Richard Clayderman Christmas CD here that I might give to my bro and SiL since I don't have anything else for them. I actually don't think I will get anything this year. Usually my SiL and bro ask me if there's anything I want or they mention something. My brother is a carpenter, so in some years he made wooden trays or napkin holders or something and then everyone in the family would get one. This year? Nothing... ah well... I already got 2 presents from 2 of my students. One is a box of expensive pralinès and the other is a little Santa Claus pottery thingy where you can put in a tealight and then the light shines through some holes? Know what I mean? And there's also some tea in it and I think chocolate too.
Anyway... not Christmas Eve yet, so let's worry about pressies or no pressies tomorrow. ;)

Yes, it is James Purefoy (PUREFOY!!! Where is my Purefoy sidekick when I need her???) and Kevin McKidd. Hugo Weaving is also in the movie and I can assure you: After seeing some scenes with him in Bedrooms and Hallways... you'll never see Agent Smith the same way again. LOL! (or Elrond (?) I guess...not into LotR, so I wouldn't know)
Last year I posted a David Tennant pic spam and was angry with myself because I didn't think to post it on the 10th. I remembered this year. :D
