SPOILERS FOR BOILING ROCK PTS. 1-2

I've seen it on youtube, and want to discuss it with anyone who has watched it on the Internet too.

Totally unexpected plot twist: Mai has an uncle too!?

Rather cool character, appreciate how he was willing to go down to bring down his enemies. Wonder how he'll react to his niece messing up his perfect record AND GETTING HERSELF JAILED?

Speaking of which, a perhaps more relevant plot twist--well, no, it only packs more punch 'cause this character's been around for a while: I actually did not see Ty Lee saving Mai like that--OH, MAI'S TOTAL LOOK OF SURPRISE, IT BREAKS ME--and then she tries to get both of them to escape, but it fails utterly and AZULA NEVER WANTS TO SEE THEM AGAIN.

It hurts, 'cause I love the Dangerous Ladies, and I've been fearing their breakdown (made almost inevitable by Maiko), but this is the best possible way the writers pulled it off. I had worries, y'know, but the writers have always satisfied me perfectly, i.e., it had long been in the making, Zuko's rebellion against his father, and I just couldn't see him bringing Mai along, since...he had to do it himself, I spent at least one season before Mai wanting to see him do it himself. And with talk of the Fraught Reunion of Destiny--which was everything and more--I...still didn't want Mai necessarily running off with Zuko after it. Of course, the writers had the final awesome say on it.

Mai doesn't run off with Zuko, there may not be immediate complete reconciliation between them.

No, Mai alone does a "Last Stand" protecting "the jerk who dumped her," taking out. Every. Single. Guard. Zuko & Co. can see her shrinking in the distance as she's saving their ass, and Sokka's like "Who is that (Mysterious Stranger)?" and Zuko's like "Dude, that's my GIRLFRIEND"; Azula sees it as her and Ty Lee draw closer, and she has no idea what Mai's doing--the air of threat for Mai's final fate is thick in the air, for she has taken a stand, left quite alone among enemies AND I WAS SCARED OUT OF MY MIND I SERIOUSLY THOUGHT AZULA WAS GONNA KILL HER.

"You miscalculated."

"I love Zuko, more than I fear you."

Y'know, Ty Lee looks surprised by what she did too.

And I do love Azula's genuine sense of betrayal and anguish and anger over the two. ("I'm a people person"--famous last words.)

Let's not forget Suki's kidnapping of the Warden, or "Hi, I'm new."

...I'm still stuck on Ty Lee going against Azula to save Mai.
