Maiko Party Chat
How To Get In On the Fun
- The official chat starts at 7:30PM EST (one hour before the first US premiere of the new episode) and ends at 1:00AM EST (one hour after the last US premiere of the new episode). However, it's not at all uncommon for people to be hanging around in the chatroom long before and long after these times!
- Maiko Party takes place in the aptly-named AIM chatroom: maikoparty. To invite yourself in AIM go to the menu entitled "AIM" then to "Chat" and from there to "Buddy Chat" and a chat invite window will pop up (you can also just press Ctrl+C and get the same result!). Put your own screen name into the field "Screen Names to Invite" and, in the "Chat Room" field, delete the automatically generated generic chatroom (it will be something like "chat43879802934") and type in maikoparty instead. Then hit "Send." Easy like Sunday morning!
- Failing that (like say if you use an IM client besides AIM and can't figure out how to self-invite in it) you can IM me (screenname: SheWhoHathAPen) for an invite. You might also be able to find someone to toss you an invite on the Maiko Party thread over at Flaming Knives.
The Rules (They are few and easy to follow!)
1) NO SPOILERS. Some people, many people, in fact, don't want to know. So if you know, don't tell them. For the record: any information about episodes that haven't aired yet is considered a spoiler. Do not assume everyone already knows. Do not assume that some "rumor" couldn't possibly be true and as such doesn't count. Discussion of characters and events up to (and including!) tonight’s episode only plzthx.
2) I have neither the time nor the inclination to police every word out of people's mouths so please consider the chat generally rated: Discretion Advised. All I specifically ask is that people avoid explicit discussion of sex or violence. Otherwise, just pay attention to the tone/mood of the room. If you think it might offend someone, don't say it.
3) Be nice. Be nice to the people in the room. Be nice about people who are not in the room. The end.
