Mod Post: Preparations!
After ten long months (wtf?!), tomorrow Avatar finally retuuuurns to us with season three and there will be a few things happening at maizuko in honor of this event. A few things that will subsequently become weekly activities that I hope a good number of us will enjoy.
The first is the maizuko chat: Maiko Party! which has been thriving as a public chat for a few weeks now. Tomorrow, however, will mark its first official, er, gathering. Full information on how to join, what the rules are, and the times will be included in a post about it tomorrow. But short answers are: join the chatroom "maikoparty" on AIM, no spoilers + be nice, and 7:30PM EST to 1AM EST.
The second thing is the advent of the official maizuko episode discussion post! I'll be putting up the discussion post for episode 301 at 5PM EST tomorrow and from that moment anything and everything related to said episode is fair game for discussion in the comments. Rant or rave, squee and flail, or offer mature and intelligent discussion (whut!). As long as it's about the episode in question it's good times.
Now I didn't just make this post as a heads-up, but also because I wanted to know if anyone would be interested in co-modding the Maiko Party chat with me. Because Avatar is airing at 5PM EST in Canada this season, in the interest of not being spoiled out of my mind a mere few hours before I finally see the episodes, I will be abstaining from the internet every Friday from 5 to 9. This means that while I will probably be signed in and in the room logging the chat, I won't actually be actively present for the first hour and a half of Maiko Party.
Said modding is a relatively easy job considering it pretty much only involves: 1) inviting people to the chat and, 2) reminding people not to discuss spoilers if it should seem like the conversation is heading in that direction. And while I'm specifically looking for someone to keep an eye on things in the time period mentioned (7:30PM to 9PM EST) it would be especially wonderful if you could possibly be generally available to pick up the slack at any given time.
