an update
so my life in so many words....
I am interning at EMI. My department got cut, we are changing the people around. They will need me soon but right now it has been so slow I want to gouge my eyes out sometimes.. Full speed ahead. There were times I was so sad I cried, and I did cry yesterday. I hate change and I love my EMI family a lot a lot.
Because it is so slow and my main boss took a job downstairs at Virgin International Marketing, she recommended me to a company called A Fein Martini. They are a management firm that manage Emmanuel, My Morning Jacket, and most notably, Good Charlotte. Not only that, Josh Madden, her bf asked me to help him with his clothing line and help him organize his life so I am also his intern/assistant.
This means I have 3 unpaid internships. I am an internaholic. I suck. I wish I got paid but hopefully I will get compensated in connections and clothing items from DCMA, the clothing line that Josh Madden runs.
Josh Madden is the older brother of Benji and Joel from GC and he is the sweetest person ever. He dates my boss, Lisa and I am really excited to work for them. He gives good hugs and likes to hug me 5 times.
My EMI family thought I was leaving them and had a talk with me. I told them I wasn't leaving and they were my priority but it has been 3 weeks and there was nothing to do and I felt really guilty about interviewing with A Fein Martini and not telling them but my boss told me to and I sent in my resume and I got a call within a few hours saying they wanted me to interview with them so I went. EMI told me they were going to give me more responsibilities and would set up meetings with whoever I wanted. Like the women who handle management roles..like the lady who manages Feist and several other bands and were like we can set you up with Matador, Little Big Man, or whoever you want. They are going to let me help them with a nationwide tour. I am excited about this. Very excited. My boss Dan told me he just signed a contract for 2 more years to stay with EMI and he wants me there as long as he's there. He gave one of my other bosses their first real job in the industry, maybe he'll give me mine.
