hurricane rita is a bitch
hmm...I can't feel anything but helpless here in the northeast as my family and friends are in the thick of the aftermaths of a hurricane.
Port Arthur, TX. My grandmother's home is like a disaster area..my great aunt's home in Vermilion Parish, LA is underwater. My family's beach house of over 20 years has washed away. News on my home in Beaumont is unknown since nobody can re-enter the city for another two days. I'm glad we didn't get it as bad as Hurricane Katrina but it is so unbelievable to me to see images of my city on the news. Anderson Cooper was on Crockett Street in Beaumont, TX. In any other circumstance I would have been thrilled but I wasn't. I haven't been home in 9 months. How weird is that? When I do go home Beaumont will be different.
I'm glad my family and friends are safe but it is unreal. So unreal to me still..
