[Today was her birthday. Not like it was different from any other day in her eyes. She was happy because of what she had. She knew her brother was here, she knew her sister was here and she met a few amazing people. Allen, Raven...she was blessed to know so many people. It was a good birthday considering she wasn't home, her real home

[ Euphemia had been looking for her, and stopped in the doorway to the conservatory when she saw the familiar chair ]

It's a shame it couldn't be a nice day for such a happy occasion...

[She turned her head towards the gentle voice and smiled.] It's a nice day in its own way. Every day is nice in a special way...or at least, I think so anyway. [She laughed softly and leaned back against her chair.]

[ Euphie comes over to stand beside her and, touching her hands lightly, places a small wrapped box in them. ]

Happy birthday, Nunnally.

[She smiled, feeling Euphie's warmth surge through her. Smiling, she felt so content, however she shifted a bit, feeling a box placed in her hands.] Oh, Euphemia! You shouldn't have! Knowing you and Lelouch is here is enough for me. [She ran her fingers over the box, listening to the soft crinkle of the paper beneath her fingers. Slowly, carefully, she began to tug the paper from the box.]

[ Inside the box is another box, this one a music box! It has a carving of a bird on the lid, raised against its base so that Nunnally's fingers can trace over it. It plays a cute little tune when opened. Looks like this gift idea really runs in the family. ]

Even if we're in a strange place, you're still my younger sister, Nunnally. I wouldn't ever forget your birthday.

[ she leans down to hug her ]

[Little fingers ran over the seemingly flawless box. She felt the bird delicately carved on top and she just couldn't help but smile.]

Euphemia...it's beautiful...

[She slowly lifted the lid and the tune filled the room with its soft melody. Nunnally immediately felt calm and so very happy. She was blessed to have her big sister...]

Thank you...thank you so much! [Nunnally tugged her closer into the hug she leaned in for, holding Euphie tight against her.]
