Sunrise, Sunset [Active/Open]

Who: Hyuuga Hizashi and you--OPEN to anyone, no need to ask first.
Where: Entrance Hall
When: Day 1, Dawn
What: Instead of arriving at Death's doorstep, Hizashi arrives in Portes' foyer. Needless to say, he is neither happy nor healthy, and could really use some help.
Warnings: Angst, pain, blindness? Mentions of family members hurting each other.

A pristine white silk kimono, with intricately embroidered golden flame. A mane of shining black hair, spilling unbound down his back. He might have looked peaceful, even picturesque, if he were only kneeling in prayer. But nothing was ever quite that simple, was it?

Hizashi hit the entrance room floor kneeling, doubled over until he was practically on his elbows and knees, convulsing as he struggled to remain upright. The metal-plated headband he wore was skewed violently from how he clutched his head, fingers clawing into his hair and eyes squeezed tightly shut. The veins around them bulged and throbbed visibly, and the strange green tattoo on his forehead seemed almost a living thing, pulsing and writhing as it burned against his pale skin. He couldn't seem to stop screaming--it was all he could do to remain upright and conscious at all.

The way the world had seemed to slip sideways around him had gone unnoticed, and the change of scenery unseen--even the unnerving chill and sense of being watched couldn't compete against the overwhelming pain trying to tear his mind in two. It was all he could focus on now, the searing pain threatening to devour him from the inside out, and the way his own screams echoed back to him, hollow and distorted in this ancient place.

Strange and twisted though they were, the screams somehow felt like the only things not out of place here.

But even this, even him--this wasn't supposed to last so long, was it? Otou-sama could make it last as long as he wished to, of course, but..... he wouldn't be so cruel, would he? Not after this. Not after he had agreed. He was saving them all, he was holding back a war, there should be absolutely no reason for prolonging his suffering like this. Why couldn't it just be over quickly?

This was it. The final test. The final chain. Once he endured this pain, he would be free..... He would be leaving Neji behind, but finally, he would be making his own destiny. Whatever was beyond this life, he had chosen to face it, and he alone. Not for the Main House, not for Otou-sama, but..... for himself. For Neji. For Hiashi. For his family, and his village, and everything important, he had made one last stand. He just had to be strong for a little while longer, only a little.....

.....But why did it feel like the pressure on his seal was starting to recede? And why wouldn't it stop hurting?
