Who: Vivien and YOU Where: Kitchen When: Day 005 What: Vivien's hungry...feel free to come and stare. And possibly freak out. Warnings: Eating of raw organs. Anything else and it'll be updated as needed.
That person was eating offal. Furthermore, she was eating it raw. She was also remarkably pregnant, and Kari couldn't imagine these two things being healthy when mixed.
Kari had resorted to offal in the past, but only when needed, and she'd at least cooked it, first.
"Um...are you..." maybe she was a ghost...ghosts didn't wander during the day. Could there be day-ghosts?
Glancing up, Vivien licked the cooled blood from her lips. Was it really that strange to see someone eating here? She knew that her diet was odd, but not completely unknown.
Reluctantly setting her utensils aside, she used her napkin to dab her mouth before speaking.
"Am I what?" Far too advanced in her pregnancy than what she should be? Yes. Strange for her food choice? Not so much.
"Um...no, no, I don't..." Kari wasn't quite sure what to think. Her father had actually rather enjoyed tripe - he certainly cooked it for dinner when he was able to find some amidst all the seafood - but walking in on someone eating raw organs was a bit...odd.
Still, maybe it was normal for wherever she came from? That couldn't be healthy for her kid, could it...?
Kari realized she was staring. She shook her head.
"Sorry." she quickly busied herself scavenging through the cupboards.
Satisfied for the moment, she turned back to her meal, gently cutting through the meat.
"Good. I'm not about to hide myself just to eat." She'd been kept safe the last few days, but even then, she felt weird having to ask for certain foods.
With that matter taken care of, she couldn't help but ask. "What's with your ears? Are they part of a costume or...?" It was a fair question, particularly considering how much she stared at her.
"Nnnnope. They're just my ears. Tail's my tail, too." by now, Kari was used to questions about her appearance from people she hadn't met before; were humans - the humans she was used to - really so rare out there in the...universe? Multiverse?
She really didn't have the right mindset for this.
"Seriously? That's a bit strange, don't you think?" Wherever the girl was from, she definitely didn't want to be going there. Ever. It was hard enough just living in California, much less a place that ears and tails were common.
"...Do you have a name, Fox-Girl?" If not, you were going to keep the name Fox-Girl.
"Not much stranger than craving raw offal, is it?" she asked with a raised eyebrow, turning back to look at the person now. She only found it weird insofar as fox-features placed her in a minority in the city in which she'd spent much of her life.
"Mm, Kari. What about you, Tiny-Ears?" she damped her earlier awkwardness with joking; reasonably good-natured, of course. No sense in making enemies.
"The offal isn't for me, it's for the babies. They need the iron." And she couldn't really explain the cravings. She hadn't had it raw before Constance brought her the first bits...she knew it couldn't be too healthy, but she wanted it too badly to deny it.
Iron as well as a few other nutrients...the only bad thing was the normal concerns in eating raw meat and the high amount of cholesterol.
"Mm. The pleasure's mine. I haven't met many people, but everyone that I have met has seemed helpful so far." Dean gave her his bed, That one man had helped her to her room when she arrived, even that woman who sat with her during the night.
"In that case, I think you got here a little before myself." She wasn't sure how long she'd been here, but she was almost positive it wasn't any two months.
Was that person...

"...sorry, it's just...are you eating that raw?
Eating of offal had probably been more common on her world than others, before the end, at least...but she'd never seen anyone eating it raw.

"Yes...do you have a problem with that?"
If she did, she could just turn away. She had to eat and right now, this was what she was craving.

Tiny ears? Seriously? "Vivien. Vivien Harmon."

"Good to meet another houseguest, then." She'd never heard of getting iron from raw organs, but...
And, well, they were tiny. Tiny and ridiculous.
