Akira stared at the board, as intensely as he always did when playing Hikaru. It was just the Young Lions tournament, but he could never go easy on his rival, whether the game was an official pro game or something as simple as a game in his father’s Go salon. Just because it was the Young Lions tournament and nothing else, that held no reason to go easy. He was pleased that Hikaru seemed to be playing the same way.
He felt the rather sudden and strange feeling first. The next moment he actually did fall, as if someone yanked the chair out from under him. Shocked that someone would even do such a thing, he looked up to glare at them and ask them what they thought they were doing… when he realized that he wasn’t at the Young Lions tournament anymore. He wasn’t even in the same building… there was no game… and the room he landed in was covered in dust.
Feeling his heart pick up from the unknown surroundings he found himself in and from ending up in there what seemed to be rather suddenly, he stood up and looked around. Unfortunately, there seemed to be no clue as to how he got there. As he thought, only two things could explain it. One: he was dreaming. Two: someone… did something to him to bring him here. There was also a problem with those two solutions. It felt far too real to be a dream, and if he had been brought here by someone, it didn’t explain the fall or how he ended up in that position had he been knocked out for some reason or another.
He frowned at the lack of a real answer and leaned towards this just being a very realistic dream instead. Even the small amount of sense it made, it still made the most sense out of the other possibilities. He… found it very hard to believe that this was real.
Either way, he wanted to go back. He tried what must have been the front door, only for it to be locked. The feeling that this couldn’t be real settled deeper within him and he tried calling out instead. “Hello?” Maybe someone here would know what was going on… if there was anyone here. There were other doors, so there would have to be other rooms he could look in. If this really was a dream… then something was probably waiting to happen before he could wake up and figure out why he was dreaming in the middle of a game. Though from how realistic this felt, that might have been a dream too.
