It was still early in the night. Kari had time, but she'd still wanted to visit the straightjacket ghost quickly. Hopefully she could avoid any further distractions; just a quick stop in the kitchen for some provisions, and she'd head down. It'd been relatively peaceful down in the basement last night; how much worse could it be?
She pondered this as she entered the parlor, idly noting the dragon looking out of sorts. It took a moment to register that there was, in fact, a dragon in the parlor.
She stared only for a moment before tightening the grip on her shotgun. She said nothing, fixing the dragon with an intense, focused stare.
She heard someone approaching and quickly turned, on guard. The creature she saw was...strange. The ears reminded her a little of Hunter's kind, but this...girl, Cynder was fairly sure she was female, was certainly not one of the cat-people.
She was also armed. The dragoness moved carefully, bracing herself just in case she was attacked, but otherwise keeping her cool. Cynder may have been a small dragon, but if the girl attacked, she'd be getting a Fear scream to the face. Cynder returned the stare, wary and ready for whatever may happen.
At first, Kari did nothing. Dragons typically either moved to attack or started being smug at this point; this one was just...waiting. For that matter, it was tiny - had to be a juvenile.
Had to be a new guest, for that matter.
"...can you talk?" she was hesitant, cautious as she spoke.
"Yes," she replied easily. By the look of it, the other had some sort of experience with being attacked by monsters. But Cynder had no desire to attack anyone. No dragon did without reason.
"I won't attack you." Or, well. "So long as you don't attack me." Cynder would defend herself after all, but she wouldn't attack first.
Old knowledge warred with new knowledge; on the one hand, dragons. On the other hand, this place didn't particularly play by the rules she was used to. The dragon wasn't breathing fire of improbable shades at her, or being particularly smug. If anything, she was acting...
Well, like Kari might in her situation. She tilted her head a bit. Her grip on her weapon loosened slightly.
She could do the fire of improbably shades. Although Kari probably didn't want that to happen, since Cynder's fire tended to suffocate everyone caught in it.
"That's right." The dragoness nodded at the question. Not that she actually knew where this place was, only that it wasn't the Valley of Avalar, and Spyro was not here. Two things which annoyed her greatly.

"Same here...did you just arrive?"

She was going to have to fill in a dragon.
"Um..." her wariness gave way to apprehension. "Then, you don't know anything about this place."
