Dearest darling Kari,

Hey Kari Annnnnnnn! This is for you.

I haven't posted an lj entry in 97 weeks. That's what it says on my homepage. That is a super super long time. I have decided to break my silence, finally, just for you. That's how much I love you and miss you. That's also just how bored I am sitting in my last British Literature class of the semester.

I feel like there's a lot of pressure on me right now. I haven't written in here in almost two years, and I'm supposed to say something that will entertain you. It has to be good...

I'm not in the mood to get all introspective, or tell you about the drama drama drama at uncg right now. Instead, here's a list of interesting things about my life at the moment:
- I have an Obama belt buckle on today. My roommate, Kata, gave it to me for Christmas. It's my new favorite possession.
- I haven't had a kitchen in my house all semester. But...they're putting in cabinets today! They are so pretty. I have a newfound love for cabinetry and large kitchen appliances.
- I have fallen in love with my Contemporary Poetry professor. He's 54 (that's older than either of my parents btw) and has the deepest, sexiest voice I've ever heard in my life. It helps that he mostly stands there and reads poems to me (not the whole class - just me). He wears black cowboy boots every single day and sometimes tells me that my comments during class discussions are excellent. He has published four books of his own poetry and I love him.
- On the other hand, my British Literature (Medieval to Neo-Classical) professor has the strangest nose.
- Now that my sister is at UNCG, we've both gotten a few more nicknames. There's LB/GB - very popular. We both get called Brownie, which is nice. I don't mind being compared to a delicious dessert. Our difference in hair colors has spurred the following: Blondie/Brownie and Light Brown/Dark Brown. Don't worry, though, the classic LauraBrown is still the overwhelming favorite, wherever I go.
- Over Thanksgiving break, I got very very bored and decorated my entire house for Christmas. Glynnis and I hung lights on the porch, made epic paper snowflakes, and I decorated stockings for my roommates and myself. I even made a little one for the cat, Orange. Christmas is my jam.
- We think there are ghosts in our house. Orange frequently chases things that aren't there. I mean, she hardcore attacks thin air. Either she can see the ghosts, or she's officially schizophrenic.
- We're having a party at the house on Saturday. You should come.
- My friend Kai (short for Kaitlin) and I are having an epistolary romance. One of our friends, David (who is a PhD student) actually does write back and forth with his girlfriend. They send each other love poems. He told Kai and I about it, and we decided to show him up by having our very own epistolary romance. It's hilarious, except that I think some of the people who know about it don't realize that we're not actually in a relationship with each other. So, if anyone needs a love poem for any reason, I'm starting a pretty impressive collection. I'd be glad to help you out.

Alright. There you have it. That's all I've got. I hope you were pleasantly distracted for at least a few minutes.

I looooooove you!
- Laura/LauraBrown/LB/HellB/Brownie/Blondie/Light Brown/Lala/Legs

p.s. My feet miss your feet like whoa.

p.p.s. To everyone else - this entry isn't supposed to make sense to anyone but the Tuesdays from CA. You know who you are.
