It's fall. The temperature has fallen (mostly). Leaving are also falling (lots of them).
Fall: return to knitting. This is the time of year where I pick up my needles, grab some wool, and whip up scarves and hats....but not this year.
It is considered bad luck to knit a sweater for your boyfriend. A scarf is okay, as are other small projects, but a sweater is a no-no. To knit a sweater for your boyfriend is to curse your relationship. Sweater=DOOM!
But I'm all married now! Jason is stuck with me, and his sweater! Nyah-nyah!
(Jason and I chose a pattern he would actually would want to wear, so it's not like I'm knitting him something super fugly.)
We were into Hintonburg today and wandered into Wabi Sabi, and OH GOD I can't wait to go to their Stitch and Bitch. The owner was helpful and we walked out with ten skeins of Cascade yarn: six grey, three indigo, one black. I can't wait to start this sweater. No idea if it will be finished in time for Christmas (not likely) or his birthday (slightly more likely) or Valentine's Day (well I hope so).
Anyway, wool! Knitting! Handmade gifts! Local economy! WOOO!
