I've been doing some reconnaissance outside. The large population increase seems to be due to a damaged barrier. However, it would be impossible to tell whether this means we can leave the City unless we attempted an exit, via the ES Zebulun or otherwise.
I wouldn't recommend this... it could be extremely dangerous. The deities here use an unknown technology. It would be foolish to try and escape without knowing exactly how this barrier system operates.
As for the new arrivals... they don't seem dangerous.
To be honest, I'm more concerned about the increased speed of the carousel mechanism.
