Greetings from Atlanta!

First off - yes, I am one of the biggest geeks that ever lived - even if I can't quote minutae from movies and film. I've limited trivia foo, but other than that - not much.

It's been a quiet trip, with lots of relaxing, and that's important - time to recharge before the craziness that is middle school begins (OMG OMG OMG).

One thing I did get to watch was sfeley put together an episode of Escape Pod. And you know why that podcast is so damn good? Because he puts a LOT of time, effort and attention to detail into making sure it sounds the absolute best it can. And he knows his stuff audio-wise - and his studio is something impressive. It was all I could do not to make off-color remarks about his huge mixer board. (Okay, who am I kidding - I did make off-color remarks - but his were funnier) But if you aren't listening to Escape Pod, you should be. It's the best, and will continue to be the best sci fi short story podcast there is. Of that I have no doubt.

And why am I a huge geek? I put Bootcamp on my Macbook. After a couple of misstarts, we got it going, and a couple of bouts of weirdness, Windows XP Professional is running on my MacBook. And so is Guild Wars. I didn't get the chance to play Guild Wars yet - but the idea that I can sit in bed and play - makes me a happy camper.

Next up in the geekiness - taking my old laptop and putting Ubuntu on it. At that point, do I get a badge.

Okay - time to get ready to go get the kid. There are tasks to be accomplished. And hell - I need coffee! Have a good one guys. OH and watch out - because if the planets align correctly, Leann and I will be in the same room tonight.
