A meme to distract me...

Aug 16, 2007 18:24

It's been a while since I've done a meme, so when sfeley posted this one, I jumped on it. Because I'm looking for distractions tonight. You see, I tore my ACL back in February. Because of my age, it was decided I didn't need surgery. But pieces of that ligament are still floating around my knee, and every once in a long while, they get stuck where they shouldn't be. And it happened today, so I'm not a happy camper, since my lovely prescription muscle relaxers which would help make this better are missing. Oh well - I will be fine - on to the meme.

-Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, or your favorite kind of sandwich, maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not.
-I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
-Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
-Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.
-When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions.

1.) What's your favorite musical?

That I performed in, or like to listen to? Performed: Grease. Most fun I've ever had with our Thespian Troupe. To listen to, because I don't get to the theatre at all...is a toss up right now between Wicked and Avenue Q. But that may change if something else comes along - for a long time it was The Secret Garden.

2.) When you visualize your son Matthew grown up, what do you imagine him doing? (It doesn't have to be plausible or likely, or even something he's expressed any interest in. This is fantasyland.)

Being a good husband and a fantastic dad, taking care of his family. As for a job - I'd imagine he'd be a math teacher. Or working at my office - which he's said he's wanted to do for the longest time.

3.) Favorite subject in high school and/or college?

Biology hands down. Took every incarnation in it in high school, then majored in it in college. Too bad I'm not doing more of it now. But I think it's why I love Sigler's books so much - because of the science he uses to create destruction and mayhem. :-)

4.) Tell us one thing about yourself that you're exceptionally proud of, but that you rarely if every tell anyone.

Well actually I usually sing my praises to the sky! ;-) But I'd have to say...I used to have a very good eye for color - to be able to tell shades and gradiations and whether they were cool or warm, and what looked good on people. I haven't done it in a while, so I don't know if I still can do it or not.

5.) I know why a lotus. Why a panther?

Because in the last two fiction projects I was involved in, there were black panthers with green eyes that figured very prominently. And from what I've read - panthers are able to detect evil and protect from it. The panther lunging also can mean breaking the rules - and that seems fun as well.

And my one Tivo will not connect to my wireless network, and it is pissing me off. And Skype is down. Grumble Grumble.
