Serious Star Wars Geeking

Apr 12, 2007 19:05

After work today, I picked up the munchkin and headed over to the good ol' B&N brick and mortar store.  I was looking for the manga of an anime series that I'm watching.  Right near that section was the science fiction section with the Star Wars section.  Munchkin found the Star Wars section and started looking at books.  After I was done my wandering, I went over there, and tried to pull him away, and while we were heading to the front of the store - he found the Star Wars TABLE.  With all sorts of reference books, etc.

After that, the kid didn't stop talking Star Wars till we got home and he had dinner - stopping talking only to stick food in his mouth.  The kid is absolutely obsessed with Star Wars.  My geek heart is so very proud.  He's reading Michael Stackpole's X-wing series right now, and while it's a bit advanced for him, he's already made it through the first book, and he comprehended it all.  At least he's not devouring the books like he did the Young Jedi Knights series and the Young Boba Fett series!  The library doesn't carry any of these books, and even with getting bargains at Amazon, the kid will bankrupt me!  But - I guess I have to be glad that he's reading.

But he's putting things together with the SW games that he plays, and already putting various pieces of the SW universe together.  How much did he?  He's already spotted consistencies that show up in the earlier SW books that were released before the prequels were released, and the authors didn't know what Lucas had in that head of his.

But I am proud of my little SW geek., as you can see from my icon.  He's from the Empire, and he's here to help.
