July

well July has definitely been more low-key than June~

just some really dumb highlights:

-tried making corn ribs like the ones we had last month in the city- came close!!! I think the element I was missing was hot honey (I've since acquired it, I just haven't made them again)

-Phil cooked ME dinner from scratch, a ratatouille sort of dish and homemade biscuits and everything was delicious.

-bought myself a Casio loopy (Japanese gaming console marketed towards girls that mostly... prints stickers lol) I made little avatars of all my coworkers and handed them out hahaha I've been wanting to buy one for a few years now and was just kind of dragging my feet on it. I found a really good bundle on eBay and I couldn't pass it up!!!

-went to the beach a few times (once actually for work where i got shit on by a bird for the first time in my life, & had a mild altercation with the bathroom attendant- very interesting!!!) asbury has decided you can't use sunshades on the beach anymore, so I had to invest in an umbrella. so annoying, but the umbrella is actually so much easier to manage.

-hung out with Sara and got rained out of all our plans. she lost power at her house and we ended up grilling breakfast for dinner lol

-went camping at Mahoning...3rd trip of the season but 1st overnight of the year (after ninja turtles 1 & 2)

I have another stained glass workshop booked for a few days before my birthday. it's a full day course (5 hours I think) and it's to make a little 3d terrarium! I figured that'd be 1. good to learn and 2. nice refresher of the basics. I'll be grabbing my actual kit after the class- then I just have to get the garage set up and I'm good to go! I've already sketched out some rough pattern ideas on my iPad and I'm really excited to start playing around with stuff!!!

Phil's just finished his 2nd week of coding bootcamp, and so far he's doing so great! he's gotten 95's on his first 2 assignments & a 98 on this 3rd one and I'm super proud of him. I can't imagine going back to school at 40 years old- let alone going back to learn coding. confusing as hell. but he's doing great so far and he really likes it~

works been work, the usual annoyances, but I'm taking on more responsibility which is always a blessing and a curse!!! me and some of the ~ladies~ in my department reached out to see about forming a little party planning committee and we have our first little meeting on Wednesday. I think it'll be INTERESTING to be involved this year (last year I orchestrated/designed all the name tags for everyone but that was about it), so we'll see how that goes!

I really can't grasp how it's already (pretty much) august. turning 36 in less than 2 weeks and it doesn't even feel like I'm about to have a birthday, let alone my 36th (WHERE IS MY FIRST GRAY HAIR. I HAVE NOT GOTTEN IT YET).

there always feels like so much going on, yet nothing happening at the same time.
