I'm beginning to think that my stubborn rejection of tumblr is hurting no one but myself. I don't like the fact, but there are things that simply aren't happening on LJ and there's just no way to participate if I don't take the plunge. So there.

The interaction is my favourite part of being a fan. It happens on tumblr as well (otherwise there would have been no point in joining), but yes, it seems to be a lot easier on LJ.

I agree. There is fannishness, and then there is fannishness with a collective of other fans. The latter is much more rewarding! Tumblr is a good place for lighting-paced interaction, which is hard, but I find one of its benefits is instant notification of events. For example, I had no idea Benedict Cumberbatch was going to be in Toronto looking dapper, but suddenly there were a dozen pictures of him, and then I knew. :P

Now lightning speed isn't exactly a word to describe me, not even in my own language where I don't have to ponder the grammar of every post... But I'll try to keep up with it.
