The Smell of the Greasepaint

So Liam has been painting the new house, all 4 bedrooms, the living room, the kitchen, bathroom, all needed to be done. As I can use my state as an excuse to bail out of this activity, I have had to find other projects to stay occupied. I put the crib together, assembled the playpen, read all of John Irving's new book (an important task indeed),etc. I was also in charge of picking paint colors. Perhaps paint companies should warn pregnant women that their condition may lead them to strange choices... the office is blue, our bedroom is blue, the bathroom is, you guessed it, blue, and the living room is also, well, blue. Mind you all these blues are different SHADES so it's not as bad as it sounds. But still. On top of that, the colors on the swatches never actually turn out how they are supposed to... so far the living room is what I call "Greek Holiday blue" and what Liam calls "Miami blue". The baby's bedroom, which escaped azure, is "Cheerio box" yellow. We're going to be one chipper bunch in the bright Crayola house.

I just want to say that I have never found Liam sexier than after a day of painting the house for me and the baby, his clothes covered in blue and yellow, paint in his hair.... mmm...mmmmm.

We were looking to find a dresser to match the crib yesterday to no avail. And then I thought of the cubby that Hector made me. I think he would be very happy to know that he made Abigael's dresser.
3 weeks to go! Liam's aunt said yesterday that I am as "big as a house" Liam qualified the statement and said I was like a townhouse or a bungalow. Later at Ikea, we saw a woman who was even bigger, and he remarked, "farmhouse". That boy knows how to make a girl feel better.

PS The kitchen will be red. Whooo hooo!
