HILARITY!
Here is a little fairy-tale-esque story for my avid (ha!) readers:
Once upon a time, in a far away place called Bloomington, Indiana, there was this overwhelmed grad student named Sam. One day, she checked her mail box on her way home from campus for the day and found an ad for a car dealership. Since she was procrastinating, she decided to scratch off the portion that said "you could be a winner!" After scratching off the gold flaky stuff she noticed that there were 5 playing cards there. But not just any cards, a royal flush in hearts, which happened to match the hand that was titled "Jackpot." She checked and triple checked this and it was in fact a royal flush in hearts. The next obvious step was to figure out what the Jackpot was. The fine print indicated that it was a 4 day 3 night cruise in the Bahamas!! The only way to get the prize was to go pick up the form from the car dealership. Sam decided to figure out where this place was. The car dealership, she learned, is in another far off land called Spencer, Indiana. She was too frightened to travel to such a far place all alone so she called upon her boy friend to go with her, promising him that she would take him with her if this turned out to be a real deal. Her loyal boyfriend took her out to the land of Spencer and the car salesman shoved them into the back room and sat them down to pressure them to buy a new vehicle. After the assured him that they were not interested, he reluctantly gave them a brochure and form for the trip that she won! Not only does the trip include a da cruise and resort stay in the Bahamas, but it includes a 3 day/2 night stay in a select city (e.g., Las Vegas, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Oahu) and buy-one-get-one-free airfare!!! Now, Sam and her very happy boyfriend are going to the Bahamas!
The moral of this story is: scratch off the ads you get in the mail, you may win a fantastic vacation!
