Oh, I see what you mean there. Sorry, I probably worded myself weirdly. ;; I guess I mostly wanted to say that I notice and do feel bad for the female characters sometimes but I wouldn't get worked up for their rights...? I mean, like I see Rachel gets bullied all the time but it actually made me admire her more for keeping herself strong despite all that abuse she's getting. Maybe I just... look at things differently. ;;
I understand how the bi community can get upset over a bad media interpretation of their community, but say Blaine does turn out to be bi, in exchange this will be a bad image for the gay community because the conservative/homophobic people will just make excuses like "it's just a case of 'gay' guys never finding the right girls yet."
People did point out why they can't just use a straight character instead and turn them bi, but we've seen that on TV several times already (or so I heard; I only know of Willow from Buffy as an example) so I guess the writers decided to be creative a bit here but in the end, it's like a lose-lose match anyway. I feel bad for the Glee writers because I think they make a very entertaining show in general, taking different turns and even gives spotlight to the minorities that deserve it, but people get sensitive because of that spotlight.
I dunno, I guess I'm one of those fans/friends who keep on loving even despite their flaws. :( Sorry for being ranty here but I guess at the same time I'm just trying to sort out my thoughts while processing this delicate subject. By no means I'm lashing at you. ^^;
