Glee 1x18 - probably a very slow and late observation

Dec 12, 2010 13:33

Still slowly going through my Glee season 1 BDs. So I got around to episode 18 "Laryngitis" today. Anyway, extremely late observation on the episode. I bet half of the fandom already saw this, like, back in spring, but I wanna put my thoughts down anyway.

It's uncanny how this series mirrors my life. :( I hate it.

You don't know how much I kept remembering of you when I was typing this. OTL But I still love Finn/Kurt so much more. I don't even want to put John in Finn's shoes because I still see Finn treating Kurt better than him.

If Finn were a real person, maybe he'd act the same way. It's hard to tell. You see everything from my point of view and you see both points of view for Kurt and Finn, so what you know of John is very biased. Neither of us I can imagine what John is thinking or the reason he does what he does, so it's easier to sympathize with Finn. But personally I think they're pretty similar in many ways.

I know I shouldn't judge John much because I don't know his side of the story. But the difference from how I see between Finn and John is that Finn didn't go as far as sleeping with Kurt. He didn't keep Kurt's hopes up and then break his heart. Finn has always stayed behind the lines but spoke the truth to Kurt once he noticed that Kurt's the one who was going over the line.

I just wish John had pushed you back from the start so things could have been less messy... Anyway, I'm starting to blur the lines between fiction and reality by now. ;; What's done is done, and I just feel bad how the show can't cheer you up the way it does to me, because you seriously need a pick-me-up. Still, that "it gets better" message should be kept in our minds all the time... :)

Still if you keep seeing it as a series that mirrors you, I don't see why you can't see it in a positive way on how Kurt gets better later in season 2, and how you also can too...

I wish it were as easy! I'm not Kurt. People act differently, regardless if it's a fictional character or a real person. But I suppose it would be helpful if I put myself in his shoes and see that there is hope for me after all.
