Shining Force F @ TGS 2008
Head... aching at the moment. Not enough food in my body despite using a lot of energy at TGS today. Anyway, yes, went to TGS today with ilunari.
I couldn't get into SE's Closed Mega Theatre again and I missed the Tales stage, therefor I have nothing much to report here besides my own personal fun. I did try out all the playable demos at SE's booth but yuukihikari provides a lot of photos and info on them, so I'd recommend you guys' her blog instead.
Now, what I would fangirl over is...
SHINING FORCE FEATHER! (I still hate how they gave its subtitle "Feather" despite I understand what they're trying to head to with the name)
I was really surprised to see this at Sega's booth that I had to GASP so LOUD that ilunari even laughed at how much I goofed myself. SHUT UP, I LOVE MY EMO HAIRS. D: And they were giving away free clear files of the promo poster if you try out its playable demo so I just HAD to try it out, you know!? PAKO ART EEE EEEEEE
They had a trailer of the game on their big screen and the CG AMVs look exactly like EXA's with their pseudo-3D anime style CGs (hell, even this screenshot in my current icon is actually from their CG AMV!) so I guess you can expect a similar kind of game, besides the battle system, I guess. The trailer introduced the villain side of the casts, with the main evil being this emperor/prince/some-highrank-person of the Empire, Shuuhou, voiced by Suwabe Junichi and has EMO black-hair OMG!!! It's a freaking emo hair fest in this game!! Anyway, he has a manservant/bodyguard named Shizuma, who's voiced by FukuJun but sounds... manly. Yay for manly FukuJun! And Shuuhou has a humanoid that's kinda like Jin's Alfin, except this girl is in pink and she's voiced by Sawashiro Miyuki!
While we're at it: Jin's voiced by Hatano Wataru, Beir is by Ono Daisuke (but sounds THE MANLIEST OF ANY MANLINESS Ono-D could ever done!) and Alfin is by Itou Shizuka. I'm... starting to see Itou Shizuka everywhere now, urgh.

The demo starts with Shuuhou being guided by some random manservant who found this humanoid girl who is the "key" to some great power (obviously we're talking about that Sawashiro Miyuki girl) in some cas... ket? cascade? I'm forgetting English anyway - in this ruin, and he thought he should inform master Shuuhou about this. Shuuhou was intrigued after looking at how much she looks like a real girl. But I think something happened here - an earthquake or something, maybe (ooh, you should have seen how protective Shizuma was over "Shuuhou-sama"!) - and the girl got awakened and that's when the scene faded out.
... and brought us to my our favourite treasure hunter, Jin who was grumbling in the middle of a ruin about having some misinformation on the location of a treasure and his partner Beir tries to calm him down. But then Jin happens to come across a clear tomb with a sleeping girl in it, and Beir was like
"A sleeping girl? Are you out of your mind? If it's anything fleshy it would be rotten in here by n- HO CRAP IT"S A SLEEPING GIRL!"
"Told ya, Beir! >_>"
"HOLY SHIT, MONSTERS ARE ATTACKING US NOW!"
"So, uh, do you think we'd get a fortune if we sell her?"
"Not if we're gonna die here!"

Anyway, insert extremely long battle in here despite this being a demo game. I think the developers set their rules wrong for this booth, but whatever. My head is aching too much for me to elaborate on how's the battle system atm but let's just say "it's so Flight-Plan-ish". (Reminds me of the GBA Summon Night games, except this one is cooler)
And battle ends, and we're back to figuring out what to do with Alfin here. Jin decided to kick her tomb to wake her up (twice, even) and that made Beir freak out at Jin but Alfin actually really awaken because of his kick. She asked them what were their names and Jin answered first, then Beir, and Alfin said "I see, Jin. I've registered your name." and Beir was like "And not mine!?" and Alfin started calling Jin "Master" despite having this cool attitude like Nagato, hehee.
Alfin: *starts explaining some gibberish stuff* -- so shall we lift off now?
Jin: Huh? Uh, sure?
Alfin: *walks off*
Beir: Wait, what did she mean by "lift off"?
Jin: No idea.
Beir: WHUT waitwaitwait you can't just give her permission to do something you have no idea what it is!
Jin: Eh, just trust her. Nothing bad can come out of her, right?
Beir: *FREAKS*
And suddenly the whole area literally lift off. Apparently they had been in an airship. And that's the end of the demo. Quite a lot of story in a demo, eh? :D
Conclusion: I LOVE THE CHARACTERS SO MUCH. Their conversations are so fun to watch! Jin has such a huge variety of face expressions, it's so fun to watch him too! XD I definitely wanna follow this game!
Also, there's a booth lady that was cosplaying as Alfin! She was so pretty!
Aaaand I got the clear file ooooooh yeeeaaaah
ARGH. HEAD. ACHES. SO MUCH. I'LL CONTINUE THE REST TOMORROW.
