Persona 3 - Cleared
Finished the game. Level 86. 92 hours. Definitely the longest game I've ever played and I still skipped a bunch of sidequests! (the P3 Hero is SO being used by Elizabeth to do her errands) Final boss party was Sanada, Junpei and Yukari (she stayed healing my party all the time OTL). I didn't realize I used my favourite OT3+OT3 (Sanada+Junpei+Hero and Hero+Junpei+Yukari) until now. XD
I might want to make a proper spoiler-less review on the game (I'm putting it at the same level as Tales of the Abyss, just because they're good AND bad at the same place) but I'm gonna put my thoughts on the plot twists and all the macho spoilers around the end of the game first, so major ending spoilers in this entry.
SPOILER SPACE WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
First thing, my OTP got ruined by Takaya. AGAIN. And to think it's one of the few straight pairings I like out there! I actually loved JunpeixChidori so much in this game, dangit, but Chidori... ;_; YEAH, KILL OFF ALL MY FAVOURITE CHARACTERS WHY DON'T YOU, TAKAYA!? *shakes fist at the gun-totting Jesus*
As for Ryouji... I have mixed feelings about him. See, I saw him in fanarts first before actually seeing him in the game and I noticed how damn popular the RyoujixHero pairing is in the P3 fandom so I was really looking forward to seeing him and see what kind of interaction he has with the Hero.
So I was sooo expecting him to be voiced by Ishida Akira when Farlos left, hahah. So I was a bit surprised to see he's quite the womanizer. So I was also quite surprised to see he goes along very well with Junpei. But there was still nothing between him and the Hero. Then we found out the huge revelation about his connection to the Hero. To put the case bluntly, the Hero is the woman and Aegis is the man and she fucked the Death sperm into the Hero and the Hero gave birth to Death in the form of Farlos/Ryouji. Oh my, oh dear, the world is going to end because Death is finally born. Then I joked to myself "At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if Ryouji turns out to be the final boss."
And it turns out he is. OTL I find his "real form" looking very cool, though. Hearing Ishida Akira speaking all evil like that was a... wow. I think this game finally made me look up to Ishida since I've only seen him as "one of the major popular seiyuus out there that I don't care of" (Greenriver falls into this category 8D) before this. Anyway, there's STILL nothing special between Ryouji and the Hero (except for the bedroom scene) besides their connection so, uh, what's with the pairing hype!? XD; I can see why people might want to pair them up but seeing how this pairing is more fanon-based than canon-based (refer to Akuroku), I still can't see why it's so popular. Still, I can sympathize with both of them so I still end up wanting to look at fanarts of them...
Anyway, if anyone's curious over what's my pairing cup of tea... (while also plugging the sites I most love of the said pairing)

On to ending talk...
I've been rewatching the ending anime cutscenes on Youtube and listening to the BGMs that played in the ending and I would say all of this was (well, still am) giving me a sick feeling in the stomach but I actually AM having a stomachache right now so that's probably why. But I couldn't stand that sick feeling so I forced myself to cry to make the feeling move to something else, but that got me into a depressed state.
The ending may look like a happy ending at first glance, but thinking more over the hints they left behind, I just find it so... sad. I found it weird how the Hero kept getting tired and tired by the last days of the game and when he fell asleep in the ending, I thought, "Wait, it's not like he's not going to wake up again, right?" Then I surfed through fansites and read their thoughts on the ending and someone had the theory that the Hero actually died when fighting Nyx but Ryouji gave him a chance to live one more month as a normal teenager and at the end he finally died again. In bliss.
Whether the theory is right or not, nonetheless the ending felt like it hinted the Hero's death so... This feels like Abyss and its abstract ending all over again... :(

Mmph, I think I might stay in a mellow mood for the next few days... Guess I can finally focus on commissions and schoolwork now. Completely ignored them for a long time, I'm so sorry. OTL

By the way, I bought the latest Dengeki PS2 magazine last week and it has a DVD with a new Persona 3 trailer which features my most favourite BGM in the game *points to current song* and I love where they put Aragaki's quote in the video.
This is my first time ripping something out of a DVD, though, so the whole video quality SUCKS because weirdly the AVIs got divided into segments when I ripped the DVD (I wasn't sure how to compress the file too so I think I accidentally took the lowest quality compression) and so I had to glue it up using Windows Movie Maker and then encode it into WMV format so now you get it as what it is now. I would have put this on Youtube but around the end of the video got quite corrupted. Someone needs to teach me how to encode DVD rips into AVIs. I tried searching on Yahoo but nothing good came out except for AVI to DVD tutorials and some gibberish codes.
