Tokyo Diary Entry #1
Well, the time has come. All the preparations, the waiting, the excitement has come and now I sit at Sapporo Station on platform 5 waiting for the Hamanasu Special Express to arrive so I can find my seat. I don't think that I've done a trip like this before; that being said, one that has made me this nervous. I've gone on plenty of trips before, but none that I have completely investigated and planned out myself. So, to put it lightly, I am nervous as hell. Tokyo is a huge city. I could easily get lost as was demonstrated when I looked at the train map and my eyes went in directions I thought were not possible >,< But, seeing as I put down the money already and have Noella meeting me along the way, I guess there is no turning back. As to why she is not here; I sent her off 4 days ago to Aomori City (on the main island of Honshu) to go to the Nebuta Festival. If you are curious as to what that is, let google be your friend and look it up because there is a LOT involved with it ^^; Noella was going down for that and meeting Dan there so he could take her around. I get to pick her up in Aomori and we will head down to Tokyo together. Now, for those of you wondering, the Hamanasu Express is an overnight train that leaves Sapporo at 10pm and arrives in Aomori at 5:35 am the next morning. Then it is a series of trains until we reach Tokyo at 10:35 pm. So just over 24 hours of traveling in total to get there. And yes, I am crazy. But for the deal I got on the tickets, I couldn't really say no. I guess that's all for now. I'll prolly write once I'm settled on the train, but until then, see ya later ^_~
