The juxtoposition of hydrangeas and graffiti strikes me as distinctly Koenji. We've officially been living here for a year now!

The cycling trip to Hokkaido was the clear highlight of the summer. I'm equal parts disappointed that I couldn't go home and pleased that could thus come here instead.
Immediately after returning to Tokyo I spent a few days in Izu with friends...
and a couple more in Karuizawa at another friend's summer (but currently permanent) home.
The hiking was superb.
Finished the summer relaxing on Lee's balcony with views of the Chuo line and Fuji-san. Not especially looking forward to going back to work today but I'll get into the groove. Just gotta take the unexpected corona changes as they come.
unpictured events: more hanging out @Yuki's, nijikai party with Astrid on zoom, ExcitELT conference, Genchan's birthday party, getting a brief slight fever and having to stay home for a week but doing OK with remote classes thanks to the experience last spring, my birthday celebrations, Oshiebito forum
