Winter 2014-15 has been busy with work, but I will not post about that. I will post about this.
The best part of Tokyo fall for me might actually be in December. I love when there's no green left on the trees, and we get these leaf blankets after heavy winds.
Sometimes it's even fall at night.
On the weekends I hung out with friends, near and far.
And ate yummy things.
I marked the fall term exams and input the grades with record speed in order to use the test marking break to spend some time in Tome. This was my first visit in three years - oops!
I was lucky to get to Café Minnesota one more time before it closed. =(
I will have to check out Masato's new pizza place next time.
Then it was back to Tokyo...
...but I brought some Tome with me. This decadent breakfast is a collaborative effort of Seiko-chan (chocolate cake) and Costco (fruits otherwise hard to find in Japan).
Friends celebrated Christmas sometimes.
Christmas date with Sashimi<3
Around this time fall ended unambiguously.
Isamu and I made a trip to Sendai to greet the new year. This was my second visit to Miyagi in three weeks - yay!
Many places were closed for the New Year, and ultimately he didn't get a great impression of the city, but at least we were able to spend some time together.
Back in Tokyo we hatsumoded to a local shrine near the house he grew up in.
We didn't get a lot of snow in Tokyo, but it did fall pretty hard one day.
This happened to be the day that we posted the admission results of our document screening and interview test.
I hope there was mostly good news. I'll be teaching a lot of those new first year students from April.
In February, some friends and I took a trip to Karuizawa. We looked at rocks...
...and lights...
...and snow...
...and pizza! Actually, pizza was kind of the theme of these past three months.
Once in a while I ate other things too though.
Bye-bye winter! See you next winter.
