It's
been a while!
Reasons being a combination of:
- no starbucks on campus
- didn't have a job
- forgot to take pictures or too awkward to whip out camera or phone.
But now that I'm getting paid, and back in BC so there's a Starbucks on every block, I can get all the crazy ass drinks I want!
List of stuff I've tried but didn't take pictures of:
- iced vanilla chai latte with soy - had this after graduation--SO GOOD. SO EXPENSIVE. [a bit too sweet though]
- chai latte - had this twice while hanging out with the same people twice--but in different places. not at Starbucks.
- gingerbread latte with and without whip - but always with maximal deliciousness.
- soy latte - had this at Blue Chip Cookies at school this summer. AMAZING.
- vanilla latte - tried it for the first time this summer. Doesn't taste that vanilla? Or maybe I'm just dumb.
- cinnamon dolce latte - Tried on recommendation. SMELLS SO GOOD. CINNAMONNNNNN.
- hazelnut latte - Tried in HK! I saw it on the menu and almost died of happiness. Don't remember what it tastes like. But I didn't hate it!
- no whip caramel brulee latte - Tried also on recommendation. Smells like caramel alright! Tastes good too.
- caramel macchiato - the drink people literally go crazy over. Tried it on Monday and I can see why! I heard people think it's bitter 'cause the shots are on top and there's less syrup but I didn't find it bitter at all. Perfect amount of sweetness. The caramel drizzle on top is pretty! Tastes like a smoother vanilla latte.
Stuff that I do have pictures for:
Peppermint mocha! BEST HOLIDAY DRINK EVER. I hate mint chocolate chip stuff but I LOVE this. I like how you can TASTE the peppermint--I can't even get this with mint tea. It's really sweet though. I would ask for less syrup but I don't want to bother the people :\
I've had this with chocolate sprinkles [in Kingston] and with mocha sauce [?] on top [in HK airport] and I honestly cannot tell the difference.
Pumpkin spice latte! Ordered this at the airport 'cause I had a night flight but wanted to get some work done. The drink was orange--how awesome is that?! It totally smells like pumpkin and has a very smooth texture.
And yesterday: caffe misto with 1 pump vanilla! This has to be my longest drink order ever. I felt so high maintenance as I was ordering it D: But it's not bad! Less sweet than my normal drinks, I guess my normal vanilla lattes have 2 pumps of syrup. I don't mind it though! It still smells and tastes like a vanilla latte, it's also a a whole dollar cheaper.
I gotta figure out why the lattes I buy still tastes good even after it gets cold. When I make my own the coffee tastes like ass after even half an hour. It's not the sugar since my caffe misto was fine...it's not the instant coffee or the coffee-milk ratio...maybe I need to heat the milk more in the microwave? FUTURE EXPERIMENT IN THE WORKS!
