1. What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before?
Started a business! That was pretty weird. Got paid to take photographs. Gave people my card. Took up roller derby. Got good at roller skating!
2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Yeah, my resolution was to see as much live music as possible. I went to a LOT of gigs this year.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nah, not really... NEXT year however!
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yeah, my beautiful grandmother. That was a horrible start to the year.
5. What countries did you visit?
For once I can answer this interestingly! Australia, a lot (obviously), Malaysia, Japan and (right now) Singapore!
6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
Money. And camera gear.
7. What dates from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Umm... You know, I can't think of any. October 23? Cause it was my derby league's First Ever Bout?
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I shot some pretty notable bands. Took some cool photos. Started a business, that was alright. Oh, and I used a squat toilet. That part was pretty terrible. Oh! And I learned to skate backwards! Go me!
9. What was your biggest failure?
I didn't make music AT ALL. I barely even sang. I didn't write a single song. Good to see me putting that music degree to use eh? I probably could have saved a lot more money too.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nah. I got sick a couple of times, just colds though. And a bout of vomiting.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My beautiful Riedell R3 skates. My 50mm f1.8 lens.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Chris', for managing to put up with me for another year. We're nearly up to 5 now!
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
The local Bob's. SRSLY.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Camera stuff, and clothes, and gigs. How sad, I need to buy less clothes.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Skating! Roller derby! My league's first bout! Seeing Japan!
16. What song will always remind you of 2010?
I think anything Soul Continuum, and any of Brandon Boyd's Wild Trapeze stuff. And Mutemath cause I listened to them pretty much non-stop.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Pretty much the same I think.
b) thinner or fatter? Oh that never changes. Always the same.
c) richer or poorer? Pretty sure I was considerably richer. This holiday is expensive!
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Music. And getting up earlier.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
One word. Facebook.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent Christmas in Seremban, Malaysia with Chris' extended family. We went to a shopping centre. It was weird, cause shopping centres are actually open on Christmas day here.
21. Did you fall in love in 2010?
I remained in love. That counts :-)
22. How many one-night stands?
Um. Exactly zero.
23. What was your favorite TV program?
I didn't really have a favourite per se, but I watched all the True Blood I could get my hands on, I started watching One Tree Hill and I dug Veronica Mars a whole lot right back at the start. Oh and season 3 of Gossip Girl. And good old Glee.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
The opposite actually, I have a lot more friends that I could've guessed I'd have this time last year. Cause this time last year I was all "Roller derby's awesome, but no way could I be that tough." Now I know you don't actually have to be tough ;-)
25. What was the best book you read?
New Dresden Files! Changes was amazing, as usual.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
MUTEMATH.
27. What did you want and get?
I wanted photography skillz, and moneyz, and gear, and as much free time as possible. I got some skillage cause I studied a lot and practised a lot, I worked a lot so I got some moneyz, but it's mostly gone now (oh d-d-d-d-dear...), I got 2 new lenses and some remotes and stuff, and Chris gave me a killer tripod. And I got a fair bit of free time, so I really can't complain.
28. What did you want and not get?
A really great job. And to get the hell out of this supermarket gig.
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
I honestly can't think of one. I really liked I Love You, Man but I only saw it this year, it wasn't released this year...
30. What did you do on your birthday?
I went to see Paramore! And the night before I went to a derby bout.
31. What is one thing that would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Less bad haircuts.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
Skinny jeans and t shirts. A little bit rock chick, but mostly I-couldn't-be-bothered.
33. What kept you sane?
My camera. And the location of my room at the opposite end of the house.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Um. I think that role was filled by Alexander Skarsgard this year.
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
The Australian internet censorship! Seriously, pollies, get a clue.
36. Who did you miss?
Grandma. Toni-Bobbin. And Chris most of the time. Long distance-ish sucks.
37. Who was the best new person you met?
Kid Kaos, Maxi-Mum Damage and Monie Bones.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010:
Don't say sorry - say "suck it!"
It's not what you know, it's who you know.
39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Time is a thief with a loaded gun, the sky rolls by while the days are done. The night falls prey to another sun, all like clockwork. They won't stop.
