Even the Mona Lisa's falling apart

So apparently my thyroid hates me and has decided to go on permanent strike. This sucks, since it means I'll be stuck taking artificial hormones for the rest of my life. Then again, when I looked at the list of symptoms on the handout my doc gave me today for hypothyroidism, I was like, "Holy shit - I have all but two of these!" So if it makes a significant difference in the way I feel, I can't complain too much about the meds.

I think it hurt more to have my doctor tell me this was common in "middle aged women" than the diagnosis itself. Ouch.
