The pain of the creator.

I've always been a critic. I used to sit, watch and enjoy/dislike things made by others; but, this time, I wanted to make something myself. I thought about a visual novel. When you start, you immediately have to decide a genre. Romance? Common. Drama? The same. Comedy? Perhaps you're not good at. So you choose the less hard, but always undecided.
Then, it's time to think about the characters. First, the personality, and it's complicated itself. Nowadays, it's rare to find a book/game/whatever with a good plot and well-done character development. After this, the art.
  • You can draw it. That's good!
  • You're like me and can't even do a sketch. There are some examples on the internet; you can ask a friend, but it's not like you're doing the VN yourself anymore.
And if you're the example of the second alternative, you may think "okay, I can put all into writing and backgrounds". To write a story, it took weeks. To find the right one, it took days. And it's not like you're going to easily get it just after you imagine one.
The most confortable thing of making a visual novel is deciding the backgrounds. You take a camera, do some photos and you're ready.  The worst thing after all is that it steals all your time; no games, no books, no telefilms. At least if you want to finish it early. Add the homework or the job, and you have it.
But~ it's fun. Sometimes you just want to throw it all in the bin but it's real fun. If you want to do any project (write a book, draw or any), just do it. It's not like you're only going to fail.
