I made a mock-up for the red robe using the Janet Arnold drop-front dress pattern. It fits pretty well, but I decided that the back was too low. Instead I actually looked at the robe pattern in the same book and realized I can just use the lining pieces to make the bodice. Duh! At least now I have a mock-up for the drop-front dress which I plan to make, especially since I got this great dotted green cotton from Mum when I got home (it was formerly a sheet she didn't want) that will work really well.
So I scanned, printed, and cut out the robe pattern and have it set out to make a mock-up.
Which comes to the bad news.
I didn;t bring my machine home from school so my Mum's letting me use hers. Except I sit down at it and it promptly stops working. *le sigh* We're taking it into the shop to have him look at it. I just hope we can it fixed, there's no way I'm spending three weeks without a machine. *is dependent*
In the mean time I've been working some more on my embroidered pocket. It's looking good! One leaf done, two and a half to do!
