Now that I'm awake and coherent, I'll give you more of an update on my Sherbrooke stuff.
The jacket is done except for the cuffs. And it looks awesome! The unfitted front actually looks a lot better in the real fabric, as it's much heavier and holds it down, rather than sticking out. It's a gorgeous dark blue velvet, and a lined the hood in some dark purple wool. Just smashing! I can't wait to wear it around tomorrow!
The Canadian corset is done done except for binding. I shortened the front this morning so that it doesn't dig into the top of my thighs when I sit down. It just gives me such a lovely shape. Really good waist definition. And it's much more solid than my last one. The only problem is that it makes my bust sit more forward than my last one, so my bodice is now a little too tight at the bust. I think later I'm going to extend the front with some clever piecing and covering seams with ribbons, but for now I'm just going to have to live with it. My bodice will be under my paletot for most of the time anyway.
I still want to add new sleeves, but I don't know if I'll have the time. I think I may cut them out and hand-sew them on in the bus today. They'll be pretty un-trimmed, anyway.
I think that's all for now. And now my favourite part, LISTS!
Machine Sew:
1. Add cuffs to paletot
2. Trim with black ribbon
3. Re-sew one bone chanel on corset
4. Cut out and sew on new sleeves
5. Trim sleeves
Hand-sewing (at Heather's or on bus)
